Traditional mansion "KASTRO" is a fully renovated traditional, stone house built according to the local architectural style of Astypalaia island. The house is 80m ², and it is situated at the foot of the Castle of Astypalea. It consists of 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, a fully equipped modern kitchen and it can sleep 5 persons.

It is located on the highest spot of the hill on which is built the Medieval Castle of the island, overlooking the beautiful capital of Astypalaia, Chora. It belongs to the typical traditional style of Astypalaia houses, with its wooden balcony, a chimney-cooking place, wooden attics, internal wooden staircases, and it is entirely decorated with old traditional furniture. Its 60cm thick stone walls quarantee a cool atmoshpere inside the house, even during the hottest summmer days.

Kastro house has a large, fully equipped kitchen with a dining room, a spacious living room, an attic (accessed by internal staircase) with two single beds, an independent bedroom with a double bed and an extra separate space (like a small attic accessed by internal staircase) with one single bed, and a bathroom.

The amphitheatrically built traditional settlement of Astypalaia with its narrow lanes, its whitewashed, well-preserved houses, the impressive Medieval Castle, promise the island's visitor spectacular panoramic views. The island has numerous beaches for all tastes (quiet and remote or organized). The beach closest to the house is LIVADIA which is at a 20' distance of foot.

The piazza with the well preserved wind mills is the meeting point of all island visitors for coffee, ouzo drinking, dining and small talk!
